Meet Our Master of Ceremonies
Kendrick Thomas has been the Master of Ceremonies for three Mr JSLs and one for WWW. He is a Public Image Chair and member of the Rotary Club of Downtown DeLand.
Kendrick has also assisted with planning and organizing ME STRONG. He has worked in local government for thirteen years. Nine of those years were in elections, and four were in purchasing. He loves DeLand and this community. DeLand is his hobby!
Meet Our Contestants
Ray Vento is a Florida native, raised in South Florida and moved to Deland in 1992. He graduated from Deland High in 1997. He currently works for Jacobs Heating and Air for the last 20 years as their Lead HVAC Technician. Ray will give you the shirt off his back and is always helping those in need.
He loves to give back to his community. No one is a stranger to Ray! Ray spends his free time with his Amazing wife Jennifer of 23 years, his son Dominic and his twin daughters, Sophia and Gabriella. In his free time he likes to BBQ and smoke all kinds of food and hanging out with his family. This is Ray’s 1st nomination for Mr. JSL and he is looking forward to raising some money for JSL so that we can pour it back out into our community.
Joseph Peacock likes to go by Joe or just Peacock. He is 40 years old, born and raised here in Florida. Joe is married to his high school sweetheart Lena. They have been married for eight years, and have two boys: Tyler who is 20, and Jonathan who is 15. He also has 17 godchildren who keep him on his toes.
He loves spending time with his friends and family and loves everything about Pokemon. Joe enjoys traveling and making food, especially grilling out. His favorite saying is, "No worries," because he is a go-with-the-flow kind of guy.
Joseph Hernandez is one of six kids and the youngest in his family. He has a love for dance and music. Joseph is an amazing father of a two-year-old named Joel and husband to wife Cristina. Joseph loves to volunteer and help his community and friends. He is a graduate of DeLand High and volunteers his time to teach dance. He is an amazing friend and person to anyone around him, and loves his dad jokes.
