The Junior Service League of DeLand is a non-profit charitable organization of women that has been committed to the improvement of our community through effective volunteerism and fundraising since 1929. We are active, dedicated women who have pledged to make a difference in our community by reaching out to those most in need and educating ourselves regarding community issues and leadership.

The Jennifer White Service Scholarship, presented by the JSL, is intended to recognize young ladies for outstanding educational and community service achievements. This scholarship honors former JSL board member Jennifer White, a dynamic woman who exemplified dedication in DeLand.

JSL will award (3) $1,000 scholarships in 2025.

The scholarship criteria are as follows:

• Female Senior at DeLand High School

• Applicants must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher

• Applicants should list their involvement in community service and leadership in school

• Respond to the following essay question: "What does community service mean to you, and how have you been involved in impacting your community?"

• Length of essay is to your discretion but it should be well thought out and grammatically correct

All submissions must be received by EOD April 9, 2026
